Cyber Security and Business (Bachelor)
The Bachelor’s degree programme Cyber Security and Business meets the formal quality criteria of HTW Berlin and enables students to acquire the necessary skills to develop their desired professional skills. On the basis of a concept accreditation with the participation of an external peer group, the university management accredited the degree programme on 22 January 2025 until 31 March 2033 without restriction.
Recommendations for implementation in the next review period:
- The degree programme ensures that graduates acquire the knowledge and methods to act as mediators between people, organisations and technology, to communicate risks and security measures appropriately and to develop their personality in such a way that they can live up to their responsibility for cyber security.
- The peers recommend that the two new professorships for the new degree programme are filled as soon as possible and that the necessary rooms, laboratories and administrative staff are available for the degree programme when it starts.
- The degree programme establishes a continuous improvement process for the range of modules in order to ensure permanent adjustments to current topics. This could be achieved, for example, by introducing generic module topics such as state of the art and current developments, e.g. for AI and data engineering. The peers welcome the fact that there is also a focus on forensics and recommend that this is more clearly recognisable in the compulsory modules.
