The duties of the university’s disability officers are described in Section 95 of the German Social Code (SGB) IX. The disability officers accordingly perform the following tasks:

To promote the hiring of disabled people
To advise and help disabled people
To ensure that the laws are duly observed
To apply for preventative measures
To clarify problems of disabled people with the employer
To prevent dismissals of disabled employees
To support disabled people with adapting their workplace
