HAWtech German Alliance of Applied Sciences
HTW Berlin has joined forces with five leading universities of applied sciences (HAW) in the fields of mathematics, information technology, natural sciences and technology (MINT) to form the German Alliance of Applied Sciences (HAWtech). The members are united by the philosophy that excellence in teaching and applied research and development are vital for successfully launching innovative products and processes in Germany as a prime business location.
Their common goal is to strengthen SMEs as drivers of economic growth in regional networks by providing practice-oriented education for outstanding engineers and through joint research and development in the innovation process.
To achieve this, the universities in the alliance work closely together in their teaching, research and management.
HAWtech is also committed to furthering the promotion of research at universities and universities of applied sciences.
In addition, HAWtech addresses strategic issues relating to university development which are discussed at conferences and in the context of joint projects. Smaller working groups regularly report on their experiences in teaching, research, international relations, quality management and university management.
