Change in personal details

Please immediately inform HTW Berlin of any changes to ensure that any important notifications can be sent to you and to prevent incorrect certificates or documents from being issued. If you fail to do so, you may be subject to costs for re-issuing certificates or miss important deadlines.

  • If your name or marital status has changed, please use the ticket system of the Student Services department. Submit a copy (no attestation necessary) of the relevant documents as proof (e.g. marriage certificate) via e-mail — stating your study programme and student ID number — to Student Services.
  • If your address has changed, please alter this information yourself in the LSF portal under the menu item "Persönliche Daten ändern" (change personal details).
  • Trans, inter and non-binary students may have their gender and/or first name changed in HTW Berlin’s database systems before the legal registration process with the civil registry offices is officially completed. This can be done by sending an e-mail or a letter to Student Service Centre . As proof please attach a copy of your DGTI supplemental ID or a confirmation from your civil registry office that you filed an application for a gender designation change in accordance with the SBGG (German law on self-determination with regard to gender designation) with them. Please also let us know which pronouns we should use. In case of need you may file for an assumption of costs for the DGTI supplemental ID by the AStA. This can be done via e-mail to asta@students-htw.de
  • Diplomas and final documents that were issued in the past can subsequently be re-issued in case of gender designation changes in accordance with the SBGG (German law on self-determination with regard to gender designation). In this case, please send an e-mail or a letter to the Student Service Centre . In the newly issued documents only your gender and/or first name (as well as salutation and pronouns) will be changed. In all other aspects the documents remain unchanged compared to the original version, including their original date of issue. They do not contain any hints as to their rectified issuance. In return the original documents will be withdrawn.
  • All other changes must be reported by e-mail to the Student Service Centre. Please state your study programme and student ID number and add relevant documents as proof.
