Part-time Instructor (m/f/x) for the modules „Global Procurement“ and “Project Global Procurement”

The international master program in Business Administration & Engineering (MBA&E) would like to fill the position of a part-time Instructor for the upcoming summer semester (start on April 1, 2025) for the modules

Global Procurement and Project Global Procurement

with a teaching load of 8 semester hours per week (SHW) in English language.

Module content:

Global Procurement: Students have developed: the ability to understand global trends in purchasing and their significance for business development, an understanding of the core processes of global strategic and operational purchasing, the ability to systematically evaluate international markets and suppliers, the ability to analyse suppliers in detail and to make a well-founded, situation-specific choice of suppliers, knowledge of digital procurement procedures, understanding the legal and contractual aspects of global purchasing, the basics of negotiation psychology. Students can manage the planning, direction, execution and follow-up of negotiations. They have: competence in quality management in purchasing, competence in risk management in purchasing and knowledge of the basics of IT systems in the area of purchasing.

Project Global Procurement: Students have the ability to design and implement project processes in procurement according to specific situations. They can identify and evaluate suppliers in real markets and select them according to the specific situation. Students furthermore have the ability to effectively participate in the design of contractual and informal relationships between customers and suppliers. They have methodological competence in make-or-buy decisions, and understand management models and processes for coordinating cooperation with suppliers and implementing it in an objective-oriented manner. Students are familiar with instruments of performance, quality and risk management in global procurement and are able to apply them in complex business contexts. They also know how to identify and implement meaningful KPIs in procurement projects.

Module objectives:

Within this applied-oriented and internationally focused modules the students will learn to work independently and to apply theoretically acquired engineering knowledge to international business practices. They know scientific research methods for problem solving and apply them. They acquire competencies for managing projects in an international and multicultural environment. The class capacity is restricted to 20 international students. The teaching should be conducted in English language and should be project-oriented. It takes place at the Campus Wilhelminenhof and can partly be realized online and as classroom sessions as well.

 

Basic requirement for the assignment is a higher educational degree (Master) in an engineering or management subject. Relevant professional experience is an advantage. At least 15 sessions of 180 minutes each per week (180 min. = 4 SHW) for each module are expected. If necessary, events can be blocked. The remuneration depends on the academic qualification as well as the relevant professional experience and ranges between 70,00 and 90,00 Euro per SHW.
